The Manaslu Circuit Trek is a moderately to highly challenging trek, best suited for trekkers with some prior high-altitude experience. It involves steep climbs, long trekking days (6–8 hours), and crossing the Larke La Pass (5,106m). The remoteness of the region also adds to the challenge — but the rewards are worth it.
Yes, a licensed guide is mandatory. The Manaslu region is a restricted area, and the Nepal government requires trekkers to be accompanied by a licensed guide and be in a group of at least two (not including the guide). Solo trekking is not allowed.
You’ll need the following permits: Manaslu Restricted Area Permit (MRAP) Manaslu Conservation Area Permit (MCAP) Annapurna Conservation Area Permit (ACAP) All permits are arranged by Nepal Boundary Trekking when you book the trip.
The best months are: Spring (March to May): Clear skies, stable weather, rhododendrons blooming Autumn (September to November): Best mountain visibility and dry trails Winter and monsoon seasons are not recommended due to snow and landslides.
The full Manaslu Circuit Trek typically takes 14 to 18 days, depending on side trips and acclimatization. 14-day options are more direct, while 18-day options allow for a relaxed pace, better acclimatization, and cultural exploration.
No. The Manaslu Circuit is still considered a less crowded, off-the-beaten-path trek. You’ll experience authentic villages, Tibetan-influenced culture, and peaceful trails, especially in comparison to Everest or Annapurna regions.
Basic teahouses and mountain lodges are available along the route. Most offer twin rooms with shared bathrooms. Facilities become simpler as you gain altitude. Hot showers, electricity, and Wi-Fi may be available at extra cost in some places.
You should pack: Warm layers (down jacket, fleece, base layers) Sturdy trekking boots Sleeping bag (rated for -10°C to -15°C) Gloves, hat, sunglasses, sunscreen Headlamp, water bottle, and basic first aid We provide a duffel bag and packing checklist after booking.
Yes. You must have travel insurance that covers emergency helicopter evacuation up to 6,000 meters, plus trip cancellation and medical coverage. This is essential due to the remoteness of the Manaslu region.
We are a local, registered agency with experience in remote treks. Our certified guides know the Manaslu region deeply. We prioritize safety, responsible travel, and offer fair prices with full permit handling. Many clients say this was their most memorable trek in Nepal!
