Manaslu Tsum Valley Trek - Secred Trails & Hidden Valley

If you’re looking for a deeper and more spiritual Himalayan trekking experience, the Manaslu Tsum Valley Trek is for you. This is perfect for raw nature and ancient Tibetan culture. This off-the-grid adventure combines the classic Manaslu Circuit with a side journey into the sacred and serene Tsum Valley, also known as the Hidden Valley of Happiness.

This 21-day trek takes you through towering mountain scenery, peaceful alpine pastures, remote Buddhist villages, and timeless monasteries like Mu Gompa and Rachen Gompa. With Mt. Manaslu (8163m) watching over you, you'll feel like you're walking through a different world — one that hasn't changed in centuries.

Trekking through the Tsum Valley is a truly enriching experience. Locals still live traditional lifestyles, untouched by modernization. You’ll be welcomed with warm smiles, Tibetan prayer flags fluttering in the wind, and chortens that tell stories of spiritual depth and history.

Unlike busy trekking routes like Everest or Annapurna, the Manaslu Tsum Valley trek feels untouched and peaceful. From exploring Samagaon and Samdo to crossing the thrilling Larkya La Pass (5160m) and soaking in the quiet mysticism of the Tsum Valley, every day offers a new reason to fall in love with Nepal’s remote beauty.

Permits and Regulatory Info for Manaslu Tsum Valley Trek

Since the Manaslu region is a restricted area, you’ll need a few special trekking permits to enter the restricted area. But don’t worry about that. If you book your trekking adventure with Nepal Boundary Trekking, we’ll handle all of these for you:

1. Manaslu Restricted Area Permit (MRAP)

2. Tsum Valley Restricted Area Permit (TVRAP)

3. Annapurna Conservation Area Permit (ACAP)

4. Additional Local Taxes/Fees

Also, keep in mind that a licensed trekking guide is mandatory, and solo trekking is not allowed. You must trek in a group of at least two people (excluding the guide). This regulation is all about safety and sustainability. Honestly, having a guide who knows the terrain and local culture makes the journey way more enriching.

Best Season to Trek the Manaslu Circuit

Timing is very important when it comes to high-altitude trekking in Nepal, and the Manaslu Circuit is no exception. The best time to do this trek is during the spring and autumn seasons:

1. Spring (March to May): Expect stable weather, clear skies, and beautiful rhododendron blooms along the trail.

2. Autumn (September to November): Known for crystal-clear mountain views, cooler temperatures, and dry, well-defined trails.

The spring season is warmer than the autumn season. The spring season is the best time for trekking. Avoid the monsoon season (June–August) due to landslides and slippery paths, and winter (December–February) unless you're well-prepared for snow and cold.

With Nepal Boundary Trekking, you’ll get expert guidance, all permits handled, and the peace of mind of trekking with a local team that prioritizes safety, authenticity, and responsible travel.
