Tihar Festival or Yamapanchak

Tihar or Yamapanchak festival is rich of having different names to mention as Tihar. In other name  bhai tika or Laxmi Puja  and some of they  call it as well.  After Dashain festival, Tihar is the second biggest festival of Hindu religion. It is celebrated until five days. This festival considered to be of great importance as it shows reverence not to just the Human and the gods, but also to the animals like crow, dog, cow, and ox that maintain an intimate relationship with humans.
People make patterns on the floor of living rooms or courtyards using materials such as coloured rice, dry flour, coloured sand and flower petals outside of their house, called rangoli which meant to be a sacred welcoming area for the god.  Mainly goddess Laxmi which is god of wealth. The festival begins with kAg Tihar in tryodashi of Kartik Krishna paksha and ends with bhai tika in dutiya of kArtik sukla paksha every year.
